Earlier in the year, Manchester based lifestyle brand, We Are Gntlmen announced their partnership with The Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity , with the creation of the ever-popular charity shirt, ‘Humphrey’; the perfect Christmas gift for that special gentleman in your life.
A worthwhile cause, We Are Gntlmen have promised to pledge 100% of the proceeds of Humphrey’s sales being donated to the hospital charity. Priced at £40, the shirt is made from a bespoke design, with luxurious 100% Oxford cotton and features the signature two button placement, for an understated look. The ‘Humphrey’ shirt also measures to their staple fit; so you can look good while doing good. While the We Are Gntlmen logo is embroidered carefully in the Royal Manchester Children’s Charity colours, their much-loved mascot, Humphrey the bear, is also embroidered to the left cuff.
One of the newer additions to their premium shirt collection, the piece is aligned with the brand’s ethos of giving each shirt in each collection its own identity, by means of gifting it with a traditional British name; this signifies the individuality attributed to the lifestyle’s of the We Are Gntlmen customer.
Since their inception in 2013, founder Matt Bird has managed, operated and grown the brand – from sewing labels into t-shirts from his spare bedroom, to the principal Manchester business it is today, Matt’s vision is to create a lifestyle brand with substance. With the modern day gentleman in mind, We Are Gntlmen is on a quest to encourage a way of life that’s built around good ethics and integrity, whilst expressing the importance of good manners, passion and kindness.
Matt Bird says: “I’ve always wanted the We Are Gntlmen brand to be more than just a product and it’s great that we’re now in a position to be able to give back to a local charity. I really want to do more than just donate a small proportion of profits, so with this partnership with the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity and with the further visions of the We Are Gntlmen Foundation, I feel we can use the brand to do some amazing and beneficial things both on a local and national scale.”
Living and breathing the We Are Gntlmen morals, Matt is keen to actively practice what he preaches and hopes to use the brand to do as much good as possible, including the partnership with charities such as The Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.
Lucy Tunn, Corporate Fundraising Assistant at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity comments: “We are delighted to gain this exciting new charity partnership with We Are Gntlmen. The Humphrey design shirt looks fantastic and we can’t wait to see our supporters wearing them! We’d like to thank Matt for supporting our charity in this way. We depend greatly on the generosity of local businesses as without donations, our Charity cannot enhance areas of care, treatment and research at the hospital.”
Outside of this new partnership, the brand also aim to support young males who are growing up without a male role model in their lives. Fixed around the re-invention of ‘the true gentleman’, We Are Gntlmen will bring their brand values into a setting that can be used to inspire a positive change, and provide support for young, disadvantaged males.
The new We Are Gntlmen ‘Humphrey’ shirt can be purchased now. The proceeds for 2018’s campaign will be in support of The Children’s and Adolescent Mental Health Service.
