Last night, a host of stellar guests were invited to gather at The Ivy and celebrate the opening of Manchester’s newest most divine dining destination.
Manchester movers and shakers were joined by musicians, actors and sports stars at the largest restaurant to launch this year in the UK. Among the 750 exclusives, guests included Mr and Mrs Caring, PLT CEO and Founder Umar Kamani, Smiths drummer Mike Joyce, Blossoms and The Pins, as well as Coronation Street’s Brooke Vincent, Antony Cotton, Bhavna limbachia, Katie McGlynn, Hayley Tamaddon, Peter Gunn, Cathy Matthews and Tisha Merry; Olympic Gold medal legend Diane Modahl; Football stars Ryan Giggs and Phil Neville, and TV chef Simon Rimmer.
Attendees were some of the very first to experience the venue and its breathtaking interiors, including the ground floor brasserie, first floor private dining space, second floor Ivy Asia and roof garden – complete with decadent roaring fires and spectacular views across Spinningfields. Hosted across all four fabulous floors, Manchester’s VIPs enjoyed entertainment, musicians, dancers, percussionists, DJs (…and Elvis impersonators) way into the night.
Throughout the evening, Laurent Perrier Champagne was flowing, along with stunning winter cocktail ‘the Snowy Owl’ and other delicious Ivy cocktails such as ‘Heard it on the Grapevine’, Spiced Vanilla Sour’, ‘Shikoku Lychee Spritz’ and homemade Yuzu lemonade. There were also bowl tasters and delicious canapes, including Devonshire crab with lemongrass mayo, mango and wasabi wafer, seared seabass with girolles, cauliflower puree, cured salmon with cucumber, spiced buttermilk fried chicken, crispy tofu with lime and ginger, The Ivy’s classic crispy duck salad and forest mushroom risotto with black truffle and aged parmesan.
The Ivy Spinningfields opens to the public on Tuesday, 27th November, offering Manchester a completely new dining experience set across four unique floors. Accommodating up to 535 guests at any time, and will be open from dawn until late, offering breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, cocktails, dinner and weekend brunch.
