The Bay Horse Tavern has announced an exclusive collaboration with Portobello Road Gin to launch its very own brand, The Bay Horse Tavern Small Batch Gin.
To celebrate the launch of the bespoke gin brand, The Bay Horse Tavern has unveiled a brand new hidden gin garden which will officially open later this month.
The iconic Manchester pub is celebrating its history with the unique gin brand, taking inspiration from traditional London Dry Gin with lashings of juniper and citrus flavours.
To create the bespoke Small Batch Gin, the team behind The Bay Horse Tavern have teamed up with The Distillery, the home of Portobello Road Gin. The partnership has been years in the making, combining decades of experience both in mixing drinks and drinking them!
Botanicals of the unique gin include fresh bay leaf adding a warming herbal note, with the first batch of Bay leaves picked directly from The Liars Group Director, Ferguson’s, back garden, whilst dried hay adds texture (and the perfect pun opportunity), offering a unique sweetness to the finish. The ingredients couldn’t possibly get any fresher than that – and at 42%abv, it packs a punch in the booze department too.
The exciting new spirit can be sipped in classic cocktails like an ice cold Martini, spiced up in a Red Snapper (the original Bloody Mary), or poured in a crisp Gin & Tonic, garnished with orange and bay.
Head of Drinks at The Bay Horse Tavern, Adam Wilson, is set to develop a sensational selection of signature cocktails for the more adventurous drinker, each designed to perfectly complement the delicate aromas of the botanicals in the bottle.
The selection of botanicals used to create The Bay Horse Tavern Small Batch Gin include Bay Leaf, Hay, Juniper, Coriander, Angelica, Wormwood, Pink Peppercorn, Mace, Bitter Orange and Lemon.
You can even take a bottle to enjoy at home, available at the bar a bottle of The Bay Horse Tavern Small Batch Gin will cost £30.
The next to be released will be a more avant-garde effort, to celebrate modernist cocktail haven Science + Industry. With prototypes on the way, it should be released mid-Autumn and will be closely followed by a Liars Club “Totally Tropical Gin”, and Crazy Pedro’s mezcal-inspired spirit.
