Mamucium is an absolute dream; beautiful decor, locally sourced products and unreal food. Known for their modern British food with a Mancunian twist, we were excited to hear about their new Tuesday Steak Night.
Headed up by executive head chef, Andrew Green, Mamucium prides itself on using locally sourced ingredients and their Steak Night is no exception.
Lee Horsley Frost, an award-winning local butcher rears, sources and delivers all of their beef and Andrew wanted a chance to show it all off. Andrew explains how the Steak Night will allow them to showcase all the great produce they are really proud of and so the menu has everything from Sirloin, Rib-eye and Fillet to Rump and Hanger Steak. If you are in the sharing mood there is also Tomahawk and Beef Wellington, both as mouth drooling as they sound.
We started off trying the starters, opting for Lobster Macaroni and Cheese as well as a selection of their nibbles.
For main we couldn’t resist the Beef Wellington, and what a choice it was. Succulent, rare beef wrapped in delicious flakey pastry. We were shown it before and after cutting and decided to team it with some triple cooked chips and Tenderstem Broccoli and Hispi Cabbage.
We didn’t think we had much room for dessert, but thought it would be rude not to give their local cheeses a try. The cheese, was brie-lliant. Selection of local North West cheeses all talked through with passion by the lovely waiting on staff, with a colourful range of crackers on the side.
Washed down with an amazing malbec, this restaurant is definitely one to come and treat yourself to next Tuesday!
