Oktoberfest Bier Festival returns for another year at the iconic Albert Hall on Saturday 20 September, to coincide with the festivities in Munich.
The ‘Battle of the Biers’ returns to Manchester’s famous Albert Hall with this year’s Oktoberfest weekend celebrations taking place on Friday 20 and Saturday 21 September which will include three bier hall sessions over the weekend.
Over 2,000 bier lovers are expected to attend as Manchester’s local breweries take on the best of Bavaria. Albert Hall will be pouring a special selection of Oktoberfest biers that are rarely found outside of Germany. Bavarian powerhouses such as Paulaner and Hacker Pschorr will go toe to toe with Manchester’s very own Manchester Rein, Cloudwater and Seven Brothers, in a battle to pour the finest stein.
As well as the bier drinking festivities, Albert Hall promises a lineup of some of Manchester’s renowned music acts, with this year celebrations are set to be the biggest yet in the multi award winning venue. There will also be plenty of Bratwursts in the sausage eating championship and there’s even a best-dressed lederhosen competition on the cards for this year’s bier bonanza!
The official festival starts mid-September and ends the first weekend in October. Manchester’s ‘Oktoberfest Albert Hall’ will take place at the same time as the official launch in Munich. With Brexit fast approaching this may well be the last time Manchester can enjoy Oktoberfest as part of the EU so make sure you get involved with the bier hall event of the year
The Oktoberfest celebrations will take place from 6pm – 11pm on Friday and Saturday tickets can either be purchased as a day ticket, from 12pm – 5pm or Saturday night from 6pm – 11pm. Early bird tickets are currently starting from just £11 inc. booking fees.
