The eggstra special menu is back at Shoryu by popular demand.
From the 1st-21st April, the worldly Japanese restaurant based in Piccadilly Gardens are offering diners and exclusive egg-themed pop-up menu.
For three weeks, ramen lovers can delight in eggstra-ordinary three-course menu, including a ramen dish, a drink and a limited edition Shoryu x Creighton’s Gudetama chocolate bar, handmade in the UK by a mother-daughter duo, all for only £24.
The seasonal collaboration with Gudetama, a friend of Hello Kitty, is a match made in ramen, as the lazy egg’s character is best known for his laid-back attitude to life, something which Shoryu encourages for their diners.
To start, guests are encouraged to feast on yellow Gudetama coloured Shoryu Buns – choose from; Char Siu BBQ Pork Belly, Chicken Karaage or Pumpkin Croquette for the perfect start, marked by an added Gudetama flag!
To follow, the mains offer a choice of three warming bowls of ramen. Hearty and satisfying, select from signature Shoryu Ganso Tonkotsu ramen with added fried shallot and Gudetama egg, Miso Wafu Chicken with unique tonyu soy milk, white miso, shiitake mushroom & konbu soy broth, chicken karaage and Gudetama egg. And for the veggies out there, enjoy the White Natural ramen with a flavour explosion of miso, konbu & shiitake broth, garnished with a Gudetama egg on the side.
To finish, desserts come in the form of indulgent Mochi Ice Cream – choose from the Mini Yuzu, Matcha or Salted Caramel Chocolate flavours, all served in a Gudetama cup.
Throughout your meal, diners can wash food down with a choice of refreshing drinks. Choose from Mango Iced Oolong Tea, Calpico (a refreshing milk based soft-drink) or Mojito Loves Calpico, mixed with mint and lime – all served in a reusable Gudetama plastic cup.
To add to the egg-citement, anyone trying the Gudetama menu at the Manchester restaurant can take part in a exclusive competition across social media. When dining, guests are invited to take a selfie with Gudetama, and post on social with the hashtag #shoryugudetama – with winners taking home a huge Gudetama plush toy and a Creighton’s chocolate bundle.
