Launching on Thursday 12th March, Gooey is a brand-new concept for The Northern Quarter and promises to bring ‘fresh donuts and cookies’ daily.
The brainchild of Jake Ansbro and Patrick Brown (of EATMCR) and Sax Arshad (of the Zanna Group), Gooey is a delicious project, set to serve NYC inspired cookies and donuts. Led by head baker, Lewis Loughman (formally BKB and Takk), the goods will be baked freshly every day, and served up through a special Wilson’s Coffee window – akin to those found in the streets of New York.
As well as the usual donut fillings, such as raspberry jam, chocolate custard and vanilla custard, Gooey will also dream up heavenly specials and collaborations – the first being a co-creation with fellow NQ establishment, Black Milk Cereal to create… wait for it… the Kinder Bueno Donut, as well as a whole host of vegan donuts, all for £3.50 each, with the specials set at £4.00.
If you’re more of a cookie kind of person, these will also be freshly baked every day, and will include white chocolate, milk chocolate, dark chocolate and double choc for £3.50 each.
Gooey Co co-founder, Jake Ansbro said: “We’re really excited to bring Gooey to the Northern Quarter freshly baked cookies + donuts. After daily sell outs in our soft launch, we’re confident the appetite for Gooey is strong. This has been a real labour of love for us, something we’ve been waiting on the right moment for over a year and we’re looking forward to seeing everyone enjoying our new offering.”
Gooey will launch at Wilson’s Coffee on Thursday 12th March – open daily and serving fresh cookies 7 days a week and donuts from Wednesday through to Sunday. Soft launch of Gooey will be running up until the 12th March.
