Yu Alderley Edge is hosting an immersive dining experience on Thursday 26 September, where Executive Chef Victor Yu will be joined by a special guest to cook up an exclusive storm in the Cheshire restaurant.
The celebrated chef Steve Smith, chef patron of The Freemasons at Wiswell, will be taking the opportunity to celebrate his tenure by joining Yu Alderley Edge for one night only, joining Victor Yu in crafting an elaborate 4 course menu created by Steve Smith. Both chefs will join together to create an exquisite dining experience in one of Cheshire’s most prestigious hotspots.
The carefully curated menu starts with a Grouse Kebab cooked on the Yakitori Grill. The second course is a Tuna Sashimi ‘Pizza’ with avocado and wasabi puree. Third is the indulgent Lobster Butter Poached Tail and Tempura Claw with barbecue sweetcorn and lobster sauce infused with Thai flowers. The fourth and final course is pineapple cooked in Pedro Ximinez caramel with rum, raisin and passionfruit bitter chocolate sorbet.
Yu Alderley Edge specialises in modern and traditional Asian cuisine and has a phenomenal reputation for fine dining, so it’s no wonder there’s often some famous faces there. The acclaimed restaurant boasts a number of awards, including winner of the Golden Chopstick Awards 2018 for Best Chinese Restaurant and Best Restaurant of 2016 in the Cheshire Life Food & Drink Awards. The Executive Chef has also been awarded the title of Best Chinese Chef in Gordon Ramsay’s popular show ‘Ramsay’s Best Restaurant’.
That’s not to leave out the many achievements that The Freemasons at Wiswell has celebrated too. Tucked away in a picturesque corner roof the Ribble Valley, the restaurant has often been named among the nation’s best and currently sits at number three in the prestigious Top 50 Gastropubs list. The Freemasons has also received a number of accolades from the Great British Pub Awards, is a top 20 ranking at the National Restaurant and Steve Smith is also its current Chef of the Year.
The collaboration event will see two of Manchester’s most reputable chefs join forces to create a unique night of delectable dining in one of Cheshire’s most esteemed restaurants. Victor Yu has done his fair share of travelling the world, teaming up with various chefs across the globe. He has already worked with a number of Michelin Star Chefs this year, with the collaborations resulting in sell-out events.
