The Refuge has announced the launch of its exciting Weekend Terrace Party summer series.
Manchester’s favourite hangout, The Refuge will be hosting a summer season of vinyl-only alfresco parties every weekend on its terrace. To mark the beginning of the summer season, the day-to-night soirées kick-off on Friday 28th June, taking place every weekend until Saturday 17th August.
The Refuge have announced a lineup of stellar DJs and crate diggers who are all known for their expertise in digging through the crates to each curate their extensive record collections. First up to launch the party series is DJs turned restaurateurs – Luke Cowdrey and Justin Crawford aka “The Unabombers” and the minds behind one of Manchester’s most influential club nights, Electric Chair. Expect sounds of house, jazz, disco, hip-hop, broken beat, Latin, R&B, techno, northern sulphuric soul & more at the official launch evening.
Continuing though the summer weeks there will be some of Manchester’s most renowned disco jockeys and club gatherings, with appearances from the likes of Ad Hoc Records, Supernature, Me Gusta, Moodymanc, Lord Chester, Roots Before Branches, Jeff O’Toole and Martin Brew (JWalk) (to name a few) before the annual Come As You Are Weekender closes off the proceedings at the end of August.
And let’s not forget the opening of the bespoke gin bar from Martin Miller’s Gin. The originators of the world’s first ‘super premium’ gin will be keeping the drinks flowing in The Waterhouse Way, exclusive to The Refuge for the summer months. The parties will be rocking until 8pm every weekend, opening at 5pm on Friday and 4pm on Saturday for the perfect soirée until sundown.
The Waterhouse Way hideaway is looking like the place to be this summer, and now even more with the bespoke gin bar from Martin Miller’s – leaders in the gin renaissance. Serving refreshing gin cocktails, including The Martin Miller’s Perfect Serve, £10; English Garden, £8.50, with a note of pear liqueur, cucumber sherbet, ginger ale; and The Silk Spritz, £9.50 with elderflower liqueur, Prosecco and soda water.
