The Black Forest ‘Wunderbar’ brings the twilight magic of the forest, alongside daily entertainment, Cook Haus and winter-inspired cocktail menus.
Our favourite bohemian beer house is waiting to welcome you to roaring fires, emerald greens, black forest fruits and Christmas lights. Featuring an array of wintery drinks, Schloss is set to be overtaken by spells of mysterious woodland, as inspired by the Black Forest of deep Southwest Germany. The Schwarzwald is High German, meaning ‘Black Forest’; this legendary rugged woodland earns its name from its thick canopy of evergreens which restrict the sunlight, turning day into eternal night.
This winter, Albert’s Schloss has unveiled an opulent Black Forest ‘Wunderbar’, serving Manchester with a foraged Black Forest gin as part of their biggest ever seasonal art installation. Working alongside local artists and the original Black Forest gin, Monkey 47, the takeover celebrates purity. Taking lead from folklore, craft and the natural and wonderful beauties of the forest, the foraged botanicals found in Monkey 47 make this potion such a formidable gin.
All served in hand carved, wooden mugs, the cocktails form part of a spectacular winter woodland occupation, as designed and adorned by the award winning Manchester floral artists, Frog MCR. Presenting their largest ever floral fitting, Albert’s Schloss will host ‘a wanderlust of emerald green and gold’, alongside a stunning light installation.
Lights will guide the way, as thousands of festive twinkling illuminations will sprinkle an element of winter magic to the Black Forest.
