Barry’s Bootcamp is currently trademarked as The Best Workout in the World, and now they’ve set their sights on becoming the world’s greenest workout too.
Barry’s Bootcamp is launching its new co-branded water bottle in conjunction with Just Water on 10 July in all of its UK studios, to minimise its impact on the environment. The carton has a biodegradable top, containing 100% sustainably sourced natural spring water. Just is a like-minded group that came together to drive social and environmental impact through a better kind of business that rethinks how water is sourced, delivered and consumed.
Jaden Smith, Co-Founder of Just commented: “We’re really inspired to be partnering with Barry’s as they take a stance against single-use plastic water bottles. Having this prestigious fitness studio lead the way by choosing to bring in Just Water as their sustainable water option sets an example for us all. We have choices and making a choice that is better for the environment is something we all must do for our future.”
Replacing single-use plastic water bottles with more ecologically respectful, recyclable ‘tetra pak’ bottles will be a huge win in Barry’s Bootcamp’s efforts to become the Greenest Workout in The World. Their Manchester studio is the first one outside of London, located on Lower Byrom St.
Not only is Barry’s replacing its plastic water bottles with reusable cartons, the plastic cups in it’s Fuel Bars will also be entirely replaced by 100% compostable cups and lids which will be arriving at all UK studios in the next three months. Paper straws are also in full use and all changing room products are all recyclable.
Barry’s Bootcamp also has a ‘core’ collection of apparel including tank tops and T-shirts which are made from bamboo, the world’s most eco-friendly fabric or Tencel which is made from regenerate wood cellulose and sweatshirts are made from recycled cotton.
Co-Founder of Barry’s Bootcamp UK, Sandy Macaskill, said: “Barry’s is committed to making positive changes in all of our studios, by prioritising environmental responsibility. We were so proud to have recently contributed to Earth Day fundraising, with a total of £50,000 benefitting The Environmental Media Agency from Barry’s globally.
“We hope that our efforts to become the greenest workout in the world will encourage other businesses to follow suit, to ensure that our studios are as good for the environment as they are for us.”
